History
Kho Kho is a traditional or indigenous sport from the India. This sport appeared long ago in Pune Gymkhana the state Maharashtra. Together with kabbadi, it’s one of the two most popular traditional sports in South Asia.
It was a very popular sport in india and for many years practiced in an informal way(with different rules). In order to famaous the game by clubs, Deccan Gymkhana from Pune tried to make its rules.
Kho Kho is a indigenous game, it could also be called Game of hunting. Kho Kho is a traditional game played in so many state of India .
Deccan Gymkhana Pune created by the Indian leader Lokmanya Tilak, make the rules of the game for the first time.
Dr. Abasahib Natu Pune, Mahabal Guruji from Nasik, Karmarkar Vaidya from Miraj and Dr. Mirajkar Bombaju ( Kho-Kho experts) were formulated the rules and regulations of the game, so many changes of rules in present days.

PLAYERS POSITION
1 Chaser - The players of the side who pursue the opponents and occupy the Chaser Block are known as CHASERS.
• Attacker – A player who pursues the player/s of the opposite side i.e. Defender/s with a view to tap and touch them is known as ATTACKER.
• Runner – The player of the side other than the Chaser are known as RUNNERS.
• Defender – The Runner who are inside the Field for his turn of Defense is known as DEFENDER.
• Active Defender - One who is actively being chased is known as Active Defender.
• PLAYERS UNIFORM
• 1.UNIFORM of a KHO-KHO player includes Sports Shoes (free from any metal part anywhere that may cause injury), Short and Vest (half sleeves)/T-Shirt (for Men and Boys) or Shirt/T-Shirt (for Women and Girls). Each player shall be numbered in front and back of his T-Shirt/Shirt in solid colour, contrasting with the color of T-Shirt/Shirt.
• 2.The number shall be printed/stitched of size 10 cms in length and 2 cms in width at front and 20 cms. in length and 2 cms. in width on the back.
PLAYING EQUIPMENTS REQUIRED FOR CONDUCT OF A MATCH
1.Two Posts for one Ground.
2.Measuring Tape (Steel) in mtr./cms.
3 Stop Watches (four on each Ground for match)
4 .Two Rings having inner diameter of 9 cms and 10 cms respectively.
5.Score Sheet and Performance chart.
6.Time indicating Board/Placards 1-8 (To indicate time elapsed in a turn), measuring 20 cms in length and 4 cms in width.
7.Red and Yellow Cards.
8.Marking Powder (Lime Powder) and materials required for Ground marking.
9 .Tables & Chairs for the officials and players, coach and manager.
10.Blue and Red band for Captains.
11.Blue/Red/Green band for officials (Referee, Umpires, Time Keeper, Scorer-1 and Scorer-2).
12.Number plates 1 to 12 (two sets) of number size 20 cms. x 4 cms.
13.Whistle - 4 to 6.
